Elijah. My Son...

I am what I am, and all that I am,
is what the other people see, yet no one knows my misery.
My face, a sad facade, overshadowed by your love,
has come to mean more, than just me, with you by my side.

My countenance smile reflects your every whim
bestowed by the grace of your youth
Transformed and improved, my soul, you renewed,
and I long to confer my accord

Every tear you have shed, fell first from my head
to land like a ghost from my heart
Every pain you have felt, I bore as I knelt and prayed
tattered and frayed, and torn apart...

Beware beloved son, not to give away your heart
for someone may come, and tear it apart
A lie can be told, to bring despair and betrayal
Give your heart to the Lord, for He shall never fail

And when it's my time to go, do not lament
for to be with my Lord and God, is where I have went.
From above I shall watch you, look to see your shadow,
look, learn and find, behold, your silhouette is first,
with mine, a step behind.

But each joy, ah the joy... I cannot impress
how God's grace brought me such peace
For you, my right hand, standing firm on the sand
are my legacy, borne from my prayers

My only love, my only success,
My ache, and yet no less,
You, an extension of me...
Because you and I, complete we.
